Government Update

capital-rotundaIn previous issues of TAPPED In, we asked for your help. We asked you to use our online advocacy tool to send letters to your legislators asking for a restoration in TAP funding for the rest of the fiscal year.

Thanks to your amazing support, we succeeded! Please accept our sincere gratitude for your help to continue providing critical services to children in Illinois.

Many evidence-based treatments for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) are still not reimbursed by Medicaid or private insurance companies. TAP remains one of the only solutions for Illinois children receiving services, especially for families who are unable to afford to pay out-of-pocket for these treatments.

We were successful in restoring a large funding cut this year, but we will need your help again in the spring as the state grapples with tough budgetary decisions. Hopefully, you will continue to offer your generous support in times of need, usually only a moment of your day, in order to tell legislators that TAP services are critical to the success of the 29,000 children in Illinois with an ASD. Again, thank you for all you do!
